ADP Makes History at Realizing the Promise Forum
On December 4th, 80 ADP leaders rode in 2 buses to Washington DC and joined with over 2,500 grassroots leaders from around the country and the Campaign for Community Values to engage in an open dialogue with members of Congress and key officials for President-elect Barack Obama about the crucial issues facing our communities. Issues like the economy, jobs, healthcare, immigration, and the environment took center stage as well as how Community Organizing and Grassroots Leaders can have a seat at the table of power. ADP leader April Page shared the stage with Valerie Jarrett, White House Senior Advisor to President Obama, Melody Barnes, Director of President Obama's Domestic Policy Council, as well as key Congresspeople and DC policy folks. The Realizing the Promise Forum was an unprecedented opportunity for everyday people to have a voice in shaping public policy in our country. Together, we are making history!
