ADP at New Americans Agenda
The New Americans Agenda brings together diverse communities to realize our vision of a commonwealth that works for everyone. On February 18th, ADP Leaders took part in hosting and chairing this historic event. Nearly 400 participants, including immigrants and American-born families, elders, workers, organized labor leaders, small business owners, parents of school aged-children and adult students, as well as non-profits serving the community came together to develop recommendations on ways we can make Massachusetts a more welcoming community for immigrants and refugees.
The meeting consisted of small, facilitated discussions to allow Governor's Council members and local elected officials to listen to participant ideas and concerns on issues as such worker rights and employment, public safety and racial profiling, youth and adult education, access to services and citizenship. The results of this meeting will be incorporated into a set of policy recommendations presented to the Governor at the close of the project. The Center for New Americans coconvened this public meeting with us.
